Palette Festa 2025: A Time to Share Creative Experiences and Cheer Each Other On 2025-03-12

On February 22, Palette Festa 2025 was held at the Smilegate Campus. This event was a celebration where children who participated in the Creative Workshop from September last year to February this year shared their experiences creating games, animations, novels, and other creative works, encouraging and supporting one another.

More than 150 participants—including children from 11 regional community centers in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Jeonju, and Gangneung, as well as teachers and university mentors—gathered to explore and discuss 42 different creative works. The Smilegate Newsroom Team visited the event to witness the incredible creativity of these passionate young minds.

Creative Works in All Colors of the Imagination

“Experience the amazing creations born from your passion, challenge, and creativity!” With an enthusiastic welcome from the host, the event kicked off. The first session, Palette Showcase, featured a variety of creative projects developed during the workshop.

The team Our Dream Assembly Plant unveiled projects that reflected each member’s  The team Civilization presented a classic arcade-style game reminiscent of Tetris and Pac-Man, along with a heartfelt song titled Night of Agony, expressing the subtle struggles of their peers and resonating deeply with the audience.

The following session, Palette Island, was divided into two experiences: Playing Island, where participants could explore peers’ creations, and Making Island, where they could craft various goods like phone grips and keychains inspired by those works.

Participants enjoyed and engaged with the whimsical and imaginative creations. A notable highlight was the board game Gray Island, created by the Smile team. In this game, six characters—each born from the children's imagination—serve as game pieces with their own personalities and skills. As they played, attendees asked questions like, “What does this character eat?” and “How did this character end up on Gray Island?” showing genuine curiosity and immersion.

Kids Host an Esports Tournament with Their Own Games

The next session, the Esports Challenge, featured a tournament with two games: Dodge Mokoko by the team Wanna Unity at My Place? and a Roblox Jump Map by the team Beyond the Palette Lake.

Three participants who passed the preliminary rounds competed fiercely in the finals. For the young developers, seeing their games played in a real tournament was a unique and exciting experience.

The awards ceremony was one of the most touching moments. The child creators themselves presented awards to the winners. Particularly memorable was the Wanna Unity at My Place? team presenting the Faker-level Reflex Award to the participant who survived the longest in Dodge Mokoko, drawing laughter and applause. By the end, the children had become fellow creators who supported and respected each other’s work.

Shared Dreams and Looking Ahead

The event concluded with the Palette Awards, recognizing all institutions that completed the workshop. The experience of seeing their six months of effort and challenge come to fruition brought big smiles to the children's faces.

Through the Creative Workshop and Palette Festa, the kids explored what they truly loved and experienced the joy of achieving something together with friends.

As they left the Smilegate Campus, they shouted, “See you next year!” and “We have to join again next year!”—not just cheering for each other, but making promises to themselves. These small creations came together to form one big stage, and the experience will carry them toward even greater futures. Palette, the creative community that believes in the power of imagination, will continue to foster environments where children can grow through steady creative activities.
