A Joyful Start to the New Year: 2025 New Year's Event 'WISH YOU LUCK!' for Smilegate Members 2025-02-14

“Are you ready to be lucky in this Year of the Blue Snake? We’re launching the ‘WISH YOU LUCK’ event to wish happiness for all our members!”

From January 20 to 22, the New Year's event ‘WISH YOU LUCK’ occurred at the Pangyo Smilegate Campus and Seohyeon First Tower Office. The event was designed to celebrate the new year, encouraging members to connect, support one another, and share positive energy. The Newsroom team captured various moments of enthusiastic participation.

Goals Set Together—Let’s Achieve it Together

Around lunchtime, members began gathering in the lobby where the event was held. The event featured four programs: ‘Goal-Setting Time Capsule,’ ‘Draw One of 6 Lucky Cards!,’ ‘Bingo Game of Wishes,’ and ‘First Luck of the Year! Stamp Lucky Draw.’

The ‘Goal-Setting Time Capsule’ program allowed team or department-level participation. Each group wrote down their goals for the year and sealed them in a capsule. If the goal is achieved by year-end, the team receives a budget for a New Year’s dinner the following year.

At the end of 2025, the ER Team will review submitted capsules, checking participation, goal clarity, and completion status. Results will be compiled and voted on by employees, and the top five teams will be awarded a group dinner budget, ranked from 1st to 5th place.

There were two rules for the program: First, goals must be decided ‘together’ by all participants. Second, the goals must be specific and achievable. 

Members wrote down a range of goals—from work achievements to goals like ‘participating in two volunteer activities to improve teamwork.’

Hanna Jung, Deputy Manager of the Financial Systems Team at Smilegate shared, “Our team’s goal is to maintain 98% system availability. Writing this into the time capsule helps solidify our motivation. I hope this team stays strong and healthy until year-end.”

Jiyoung Kim, an intern on the Smilegate Future Lab Creative Team, said, “We don’t usually have many opportunities to talk about personal things outside of work, but this event gave me a chance to greet and chat with other members, which was great.”

Notably, members who received goal sheets with a four-leaf clover illustration were treated to a seasonal delicacy: roasted sweet potatoes.

This simple snack brought lots of joy from members snapping selfies with steaming sweet potatoes to others blowing on them before taking a bite.

What Luck Awaits Me This Year? A Six-Theme Lucky Draw Experience

In one section of the main lobby, members participated in the Lucky Card Draw. Each card featured an encouraging message in one of six categories: Work, Wealth, Happiness, Luck, Love, and Health.

Eunseon Lee, Deputy of the SPMC Facilities Team, drew the ‘Overflowing Luck’ card and shared, “My goal this year is to find small moments of happiness for myself—just as the card said.”

Yejin Hwang, Junior Staff from the SPMC Admin Team, picked the ‘Smooth Road Ahead’ card and said, “I hope this year helps me build a solid career path.”

간절하게 바라는 소원은 반드시 이뤄진다

이벤트의 백미는 ‘소원을 이뤄주는 빙고쇼’였다. 구성원들을 대상으로 진행된 사전 댓글 이벤트로 16개의 새해 소망을 담은 빙고판이 제작됐다

빙고에 당첨된 스마일게이트 엔터테인먼트 NCF엔진1팀 김소현 전임은 “다른구성원들의 소망을 보며 공감하고, 이를 빙고 게임으로 풀어내니 소소한 재미가 있었다”고 말했다.

한편 빙고를 가장 먼저 완성한 참가자들에게는 배달음식 쿠폰이, 참석자 전원에게는 럭키 쿠키가 기념 선물로 제공됐다.

3일간 이어진 ‘WISH YOU LUCK!’을 통해 구성원들은 각자의 목표를 세우고, 조직과 함께 성장해 나갈 다짐을 공유하며 유대감과 소속감을 고취할 수 있었다. 2025년 을사년을 맞아 열린 새해 이벤트를 계기로 스마일게이트 구성원들이 더 힘차게 도전하고, 성장할 수 있기를 기원한다.
